Pricing and plans
Individual plans are self-serve monthly subscriptions tied to one user. Institutional plans are annual SaaS plans that cover your whole college or department, typically with a dedicated admin console, single sign-on, and pricing scoped to your learner count rather than per-seat.
The Free tier is the trial. Use it as long as you need. Upgrade when you need downloads, question-paper generation, or unlimited volume.
We accept UPI, debit and credit cards, and net banking via Razorpay. All transactions are processed securely. Institutional plans are invoiced annually.
Yes. Individual plans can be upgraded, downgraded, or cancelled at any time. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Downloads you've already made remain yours.
CBSE, ICSE, Karnataka State Board, and 40+ universities including VTU, JNTU, Anna University, PES, VIT, and major IITs. New syllabi are added continuously based on signup geography.
Handwritten answer-sheet grading
Kwilo currently grades handwritten answers written in English. The model is fine-tuned on examination handwriting, not printed text, so it handles rushed cursive and the mixed formatting common in science and engineering answers. Support for additional Indian scripts is on the roadmap.
Yes — overrides are the default workflow. AI marks are a first draft. Faculty review each answer, override marks where needed, and the final grade reflects the human decision. Every override is logged so your audit trail shows both the AI proposal and the faculty judgement.
PDF (multi-page), JPEG, and PNG. Resolution must be at least 150 DPI. Scans at 200–300 DPI produce the best OCR accuracy. If your scanning equipment produces lower-resolution output, Kwilo's upscaling step can compensate in most cases.
Rubrics are created in the platform by the faculty member who set the paper. Each question gets a maximum mark, a list of expected concepts, and optional partial-credit bands. Existing CBCS/VTU rubric formats can be imported from a spreadsheet template. No programming required. For descriptive questions, rubrics can include a model answer with a keyword and concept list. The grader checks for the presence and accuracy of those concepts, not just verbatim keyword matches, so partial marks are awarded fairly when learners phrase answers differently from the model. Faculty can preview how a rubric scores a sample answer before running it across the full batch, which catches calibration errors early.
Kwilo is used as a supplementary evaluation tool, not as a replacement for the legally mandated examiner. The examiner remains the authoritative grader; Kwilo speeds up their work and provides the audit trail. This is consistent with AICTE and UGC guidelines on AI-assisted evaluation.
NEP 2020 curriculum builder
Yes. Kwilo supports arts, science, commerce, management, and education programs. The OBE framework and Bloom's taxonomy mapping are domain-agnostic. AICTE model curricula cover engineering; UGC CBCS mappings cover non-technical disciplines. Custom subject maps can also be uploaded.
NEP 2020 requires every UG program to include multidisciplinary elective credits. Kwilo's builder flags gaps in your existing elective basket and suggests complementary subjects from peer institutions in the platform's curriculum library. The suggestions are filtered by credit value and NCrF level compatibility with your program.
Kwilo generates documents in the format expected by NAAC's Self-Study Report (SSR) and NBA's Tier-1/Tier-2 SAR templates. You still need to verify and sign off on the content — no regulatory authority accepts AI-generated documents without an authorised human signatory. Kwilo dramatically reduces the drafting effort.
Kwilo updates university-specific mapping tables within 30 days of a published revision. Your existing courses are automatically flagged if they diverge from the updated model. You receive a gap report showing which sections need updating, not a blank canvas.
No. Your uploaded syllabi are private to your institution's workspace. Kwilo does not train models on institutional documents. The curriculum builder uses your documents as retrieval context; they remain within your data boundary. Each institution's documents are stored in an isolated storage bucket scoped to its organisation ID, with access controls that prevent cross-tenant reads at the infrastructure level. Document processing runs in a compute environment that shares no persistent state between tenants. IQAC coordinators or IT administrators who want to verify the isolation model can request a technical architecture overview from the Kwilo team.
DPDP-compliant proctoring
No. Kwilo performs a one-time identity check at exam start, comparing the learner's live photo to their registered ID photo. During the exam, anomaly detection uses motion heuristics and audio events — not facial recognition. This limits the personal data collected and reduces the risk of false positives from lighting changes or glasses.
Recordings are permanently deleted from Kwilo's storage after the retention period you set, up to a maximum of 90 days. The deletion is logged in the audit trail. You can download any recording before it is deleted if you need to retain it for a longer period under your institution's own archival policy.
Yes. Every learner has a data access page (accessible from their profile) showing which exam sessions produced recordings, when each will be deleted, and the anomaly flag status. This satisfies the DPDP Act's right-of-access obligation without requiring manual intervention from your data team.
Kwilo provides a standard DPA for institutional signature that specifies Kwilo as data processor and your institution as data fiduciary. The DPA covers purpose limitation, storage restriction, sub-processor disclosure (GCP or Azure), and breach notification timelines. Your legal team can request a redlined version.
The exam setup flow checks device capability before the exam window opens. Learners whose devices fail the capability check are flagged to the exam administrator before the exam starts — not during it. The exam cell can accommodate those learners with a supervised physical environment as a backup pathway.

Part of Kwilo Compliance for higher education. These workflows are being introduced in phases. Request a demo to confirm availability for your institution, program, and reporting needs.
No. Kwilo’s direction is to support evidence preparation and institutional reporting. It does not make or guarantee accreditation decisions.
Support depends on the current rollout and your institution’s requirements. Share your approved calculation method and applicable templates so we can confirm scope before adoption.
No. The higher-education OBE workflow is not a universal requirement. Schools and training providers can focus on their own teaching, assessment, operations, and reporting needs.
